by Jonluke McKie
I’m an illustrator and multidisciplinary artist based in the North East of England.

I mostly use analogue mediums such as ink, acrylic and pencil, occasionally augmented with digital art techniques. My work is sketchy, textured and full of movement and expression.

I’m particularly interested in children’s book illustration, character design and portraits, and I’m passionate about the representation of marginalised groups within my illustration, particularly representing LGBTQIA+ and socio-economically diverse subjects.

As well as undertaking graphic design and illustration commissions I’m an experienced facilitator and community arts practitioner and regularly run co-created arts projects across the north of England.

Clients/commissioners include Rotherham Children's Capital of Culture, Glow Newcastle Cultural Education Partnership, Rural Arts, Alphabetti Theatre and Curious Monkey Theatre.
